Here are a few notable events that happened on this day: Proto-Pietist Johann Arndt died, the Puritans of Massachusetts Bay decided to allow people to celebrate Christmas and not to kill visiting Quakers, and the American Tract Society and Women’s Missionary Union were formed (over 60 years apart).

    Christmas and Quakers. The long descent into ungodliness begins. . . .

    Actually I don’t think Quakers celebrated Christmas. . . .
